-Exesa-Exesa - the latin word for erosion includes the name of the Exe, the river which ends its journey at Exmouth at the western end of the Jurassic Coast. I regularly walk this beautiful part of the south west coastpath which, due to strong winds and high waves, is eroding rapidly. Having grown up near here and fished with my father on this coastline and then moving back to Exmouth in 2010 it has unsurprisingly played a significant emotional part in my Art practice. In this series I do not wish to paint erosion explicitly, but rather to evoke a sense of natural force, presence and absence and a fading away of these ancient formations, partly accelerated by our relatively recent detrimental actions and all played out over millions of years.
